Home to more than 1,300 animals, including sea lions, orangutans, tigers, elephants, rhinos and the rare albino alligator, Audubon Zoo is one of the Gulf Coast's top family attractions. Featuring species from around the globe, including many which are rare and endangered, the the zoo also offers an array of family-centered attractions, such as the Endangered Species Carousel, the Safari Simulator Ride and the rock climbing wall. Don't miss the live animal presentations, where visitors are allowed up-close access to selected animals under the close supervision of trained handlers. The zoo is located uptown, between Audubon Park and the Mississippi River.
