The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center contains more than 1.6 million square feet of exhibition space, as well as a 60,000-square-foot ballroom. The center is located south of the Riverwalk Marketplace, in the downtown area. The collection of buildings that make up the convention center was used by the thousands displaced by Hurricane Katrina, as a place to reconvene and use as a temporary home.
